Tsutaya Bookstore, Columbia Circle, Shanghai. 4pm.
Sunny with scattered clouds. Gold at your throat. A flash of cubic zirconia attracting glances. You clipped the citrine-centered charm before leaving home. Now it follows you up the spiral staircase, through the old villa’s ironwork and quiet corners where Shanghai keeps its secrets. It’s moving! Necklace. Bag. Phone. A little jewel with no rules. You’re feeling playful in the afternoon heat. Dinner by the pool?
