In Ancient Greece, the Gorgoneion (Greek: Γοργόνειον) was a special apotropaic amulet showing the Gorgon head, used most famously by the Olympian deities Athena and Zeus: both are said to have worn the gorgoneion as a protective amulet.

The Marillac Pendant symbolises the importance of giving and receiving care from those around us.

This gold cross pendant is taken from the mould of an original Byzantine piece.

The magnificent Byzantine jewellery and cross pendants discovered in archaeological excavations are a testament to the exceptional achievements of the 4th century. During this time, the Roman Emperor, St. Constantine, transformed the empire into a Christian state and established Byzantium's city of Constantinople as the new capital, resulting in an amalgamation of classical Greek, Roman, and Christian cultures that led to unprecedented accomplishments in art, architecture, and jewellery-making.

For this beaded collection Cleopatra's Bling have been working with Tülay Çalışkan and Ferda Yılmaz from Atakum, Samsun, a city located in the BlackSea region of Turkey.

To increase the accessibility of Cleopatra's Bling necklaces, we offer elegant necklace extenders to increase the length of their hand-clasp and Roman hook necklaces. Multiple hooks can be inserted into one another to add length, 5cm at a time.
NB: They cannot be used with standard complementary chains.

Umai or Umay, the goddess of fertility, is a protector of women and children. The oldest evidence of Umai is in the Orkhon script. From these it is understood that Umai was accepted as a mother and a guide. Umay lives in the blue sky and is said to bring good luck.
