In ancient times central asian people believed in the god of sky, Tengri Ulgen, that sits in the heavens and protects people from evil. The colour of the blue sky is regarded as a sacred colour and used for protection.

For this beaded collection Cleopatra's Bling have been working with Tülay Çalışkan and Ferda Yılmaz from Atakum, Samsun, a city located in the BlackSea region of Turkey.

Hand crafted by artisan women, individually beaded. Dimensions: 39cm length.

Umai or Umay, the goddess of fertility, is a protector of women and children. The oldest evidence of Umai is in the Orkhon script. From these it is understood that Umai was accepted as a mother and a guide. Umay lives in the blue sky and is said to bring good luck.

Based on an original relic cross that Olivia, our founder, sourced at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, the Vittore Pendant is an equal sided golden cross which broadens at the outer tips. The bail is formed from a hand-carved mould that she created in her studio.
