The Banu Pendant, named for the warrior heroine Banu Goshasp of Iranian mythology, who promised to marry the man who could best her in battle. Only the hero Giv came out victorious, and so they wed, and together bore a son: the hero Bijan.

The Ceto is made of small white conical shells, strung together to form a necklace.

Inspired by the Greek mythological figure Ceto, one of the ancient Greek primordial sea goddesses, personifying the danger and power of the sea. She was often depicted as a gigantic sea monster with a serpentine body and a head full of sharp teeth. Ceto was believed to have given birth to many other fearsome sea creatures, including the Gorgons, Scylla, and the dragon Ladon. In addition to her role as the mother of monsters, she was associated with storms, waves, and other natural phenomena that influenced the oceans.

This gold cross pendant is taken from the mould of an original Byzantine piece.

Akritic songs are the Byzantine counterpart to the chivalric romances of Western Europe, telling tales of heroism and love. They represent the vast cross-cultural exchange between East and West, where heroes of mixed Greek and Byzantine heritage negotiate their cultural and political identities. With the Gorgoneion as an ancient Greek symbol of protection, the Akritic earrings marry these various cultural influences in their design.
